Heavy Lifting

So the boss and I moved a filing cabinet today, alone. I feel like a true feminist -- grr, we don't need men to help us move furniture! haha. I hope moving from my apartment works out as well as this did.

On another note, My Morning Jacket's new album is mindblowingly awesome. Pick it up.

Blogaroo should be coming this weekend, I swear! I just have to get sorted through all these pictures and videos.

What? Seriously?

Reason #89437849275928 why Fox News makes my brain explode

Apparently, Fox News is now reporting that Barack and Michelle Obama's "fist bump" after Obama secured the nomination is some sort of "terrorist fist jab". They even bring in a 'body language' expert to over-analyze why, exactly, they had to do such a FOREIGN AND CRAAAZY hand gesture!

Just another way of portraying Obama as A) a terrorist and B) an outsider and foreign. I just wonder if they pronounced it "terrist" or not.

In other news, I leave for Bonnaroo in t-minus 19 hours. The excitement is all-consuming!

Ba-ba-ba-ba-Bonnaroo

Holy cow. As I write this, I'm sitting in the computer lab at school, and I have nothing but Bonnaroo on the brain.

Seriously, Bonnaroo is 3 days away. It's all I can do to keep from bursting at the seams. I have cleaned, shopped, organized, stressed, watched youtube videos, and otherwise tried to contain my excitement about it for about a week now.

Bonnaroo is probably one of the best music experiences you'll ever have in your lifetime. Not because of what everybody usually assumes about the festival (drugs, hippies and dust oh my!) but because of the amazing community atmosphere, where (almost) everyone is friendly, fun, loving, and totally as passionate about music as you are. Oh yeah, and there are some once-in-a-lifetime music performances there, too. Most performers try to put on a great performance at Roo, and I have never seen one that was short of phenomenal. So, yeah, I can't effin' wait.

Things I'm looking forward to:
1) Dancing my booty off to MSTRKRFT and Tiesto
2) The Raconteurs
3) Robert Plant and Allison Krauss
4) $1 grilled cheeses
5) AREPAS
6) Seeing some amazing comedy in the cinema tent
7) Making new friends
8) Dancing in the silent disco
9) Riding the ferris wheel
10) Generally having the time of my life.

I can't wait, kids. Expect lengthy blogs about the whole experience!

First Things First...

So, after much obsession over my current RSS feeds, and thinking, "Gee, I could do that," I finally went for it. So, this would be my very own corner of webspace. I've done it before, back in the days of livejournal, but this time maybe I have something of substance to write about. At least, I'll try.

At the very least, you'll get some insight into my daily musings.

Some suggested listening:

"Dear Prudence" - the Beatles
"Blue Sky" - The Allman Brothers Band
"Sky Blue Sky" - Wilco
"Sugar Magnolia" - The Grateful Dead
"Big Sky" - whatever techno act is remixing it these days
"Let Go" - Frou Frou

This will give you some insight...
